CLASSIC SERIES
SEASON NINETEEN (1982)

This cover was made almost entirely one night, I think just a day or two after I'd done "Pyramids of Mars," because I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. It was also done long before the R1 DVD release, hence the use of publicity photos. Personally, I always think of "Visitation" as a very 'blue' story - I'm not sure, but it might have to do with the fact that the Target novel was blue - so I knew this needed to be a blue cover. By happy coincidence, I found the lovely background photo of Black Park in Buckinghamshire (where the story was filmed) just as you see it here - although I've covered over the characters you'd be able to identify from a major fantasy film! The rats also come from a major motion picture - though a somewhat older one, and a bit more action-oriented. I think the end result is strikingly spooky, even if it is a very simplistic image...
